Awave Audio

Awave Audio is a dedicated audio file format batch converter.

Features:

  • Do conversions from the about 90 audio file formats that it can read into any of the 60 or so audio file formats that it writes!
  • A 3-step procedure makes converting large numbers of audio files both fast and as simple as converting a single file! And just as easily convert to multiple output formats in a single batch run!
  • Handle very large files without using up your memory.
  • Handle everything from low sample rate speech up to audiophile formats! Got 24-bit 192-KHz multi-channel audio? No problem! (the internal sample data precision is 32-bit floating point).
  • Several optional dithering techniques available (including professional quality noise dithering with accurately 'inverse F-weight' shaped noise). This improves the perceived sound quality when decreasing the sample bit-depth (e.g. when going from 24 to 16-bit).
  • Do truly high quality sample rate conversion (a.k.a. 'resampling'). Several options are available - the better ones have good enough signal to noise ratio to handle 24-bit audio without any perceptible artifacts!
  • You can do optional effects processing using up to six DirectShow effect filters (a.k.a. DirectX plug-ins - also used by many other professional audio software) as well as built in functions such as resampling and silence removal.
  • Optional 'Replay Gain' algorithm for psycho-acoustically corrected volume normalization.
  • Several forms of meta-information supported (a.k.a. text 'tags').
  • And much, much more!
  • Bonus feature: The Audio Recording Wizard easily lets you make new recordings.
  • Bonus feature: Read Audio CD tracks (requires MMC2 compatible CD/DVD-ROM).
